The advantages of on-site and virtual group training

What is on-site and virtual group training?

On-site training is the term used when businesses arrange to bring a course to their location and train a group of employees.

The same advantages can be obtained by arranging for a virtual training course for your staff. Virtual group training allows you to train your staff, including allowing them to attend training from any location.

What are the advantages of on-site training vs public courses?

On-site courses can be tailored to meet the needs of your organization. Depending on the course, you can request modifications to the content. If there is a topic that is of greater interest, you can request additional coverage. You can also request that some topics are dropped, or reduced if they are not required by your staff. In other words, the content of the course will be more relevant to your staff than what they would receive in a public course.

Often course exercises can be modified to use examples from your laboratory. Again, this makes the content more relevant to your staff.

Discussions and questions in the course can be much more specific to your employees. In a public course, people are often concerned about asking questions that may reveal information about their laboratory to competitors. In an on-site course, the discussions can be much more specific.

And the biggest advantage? Cost! On-site courses are much more cost effective. For CALA courses, if you have five or more people, the cost per person for an on-site course is lower than a public course. The larger the group in the training, the more money you save. Also, if your staff needs to travel to public courses you are saving both the travel costs and the lost time in the laboratory.
