2000: Internal Auditor Course or experience conducting audits using ISO/IEC 17025
Course overview
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to lead a successful audit. It builds on the material covered in the CALA Internal Auditor course and concentrates on the role of the Lead Auditor. Using a combination of lectures and hands-on practice, this course covers the requirements of leading an audit from the planning phase through to closing off the audit.
This is a two-day course that is split over 3 part-days
Objectives
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Plan for an internal audit
- Create an audit plan/schedule
- Handle audit assignments
- Manage the audit team throughout the audit
- Reach consensus on findings
- Create and present an audit report
- Deal with issues during the audit
- Close off an internal audit
Prerequisites
Understanding ISO/IEC 17025 course or equivalent experience
Internal Auditor for ISO/IEC 17025 or experience conducting internal audits
The path to becoming a Lead Auditor
Lead Auditor is a critical role. CALA Training has organized its training to provide Lead Auditors with the a path to success. If you are moving towards a Lead Auditor role we recommend that you first take the Internal Auditor for ISO/IEC 17025 course. Then put the skills and knowledge to use for a couple of audits. Once you have built up some skills and experience with auditing, move on to the Lead Auditor for ISO/IEC 17025 course.
The combination of the Internal Auditor and Lead Auditor courses, together with knowledge of the ISO/IEC 17025 standard, gives you the qualifications you need to lead effective audits that support your laboratory's management system.
